Stroller footmuff DIY-part1

I have been looking for a footmuff for my daughter and found so many great ones. One with down fill, one with stuffed, pretty prints, bright colors and etc.,

I am not sure if I should spend almost 200 dollars for one of my favorite among those and also don't feel like settling for those with affordable price tags.

So here I am struggling with pattern making and cutting in the middle of the night. This is part 1 which is to show how to make pattern pieces for stroller footmuff.

Pattern making

1. Measure your stroller's width and add extra room for feet and legs for rectangle .
The widest part of the stroller was 19"
And narrow part where back and seat meets was 12"
So draw a line of 19"and you may shape to be curved in to 13" so it's close to the strollers narrow width.

2. Measure the length of footmuff by putting tape measure from top to the foot rest. Don't try to make too much L shape. Just comfortable not too straight is good

Mine was about 43"

3. After you finished drawing the seat part: maybe square or maybe a shape like peanut. Add 1/2" of seam allowance all around.

4. Copy your bottom food rest shape and draw cover. Another long rectangle shape with curved bottom if you want.
Mine is 19" and 33" long but I made sure to measure 36" from the center of bottom end because I will use two of 36" zippers at each sides.
Made mine half pattern on fold but I think it's easier to have a whole piece.

5.mark where to put holes for straps.
